We see a future where energy is 100% renewable, affordable and universally accessible. We help investors to fund industrial solar PV rooftop projects across Sri Lanka.
Powitt Solar Lanka provides consulting, full development cycle,
equipment supply, construction supervision and commissioning of commercial scale solar
PV rooftop projects. Unlike many other development companies on the market, we
have strong experience in the development of real commercial solar PV rooftop
projects and utilization objects.
Above all, Powitt Solar Lanka highly values the investor relations and develops projects that offer a lucrative return for investors, as all projects need to be a “win-win” for all major players involved. We look for the minimum required level of IRR (Internal Rate of Return), to assure investor interest and satisfaction, and guarantee that IRR according to the financial models that are custom designed specifically for the project.
By identifying the transformer capacity and available roof area, the financial model, feasibility study and technology selection is done for the investor. All the legal agreements and operations will also be looked after to ensuring a successful and fruitful project for all parties involved.read more
Comprehensive solar system drawing along with a projected energy report are drafted. We handle all necessary paperwork for our investors for the approval of CEB or LECO requirement standards.
Investor will typically share revenue with roof owner at rates between 10-15% for the first 7 years and 25-35% for the remaining 13 years of the Net Plus Agreement. The Roof owner will sign an agreement with CEB and will supply an irrevocable affidavit requesting all funds from the project to be transferred to the account of the Investor.
Our renewable energy business provides investors the opportunity to invest in the high quality infrastructure that is part of Sri Lanka’s long term transition to a clean energy system.
The management team and our funds’ directors comprise some of Sri Lanka’s most experienced leaders in the renewable industry.
The funds’ investments have been in Sri Lankan utility-grade solar roof top projects, with peak capacities of 3 megawatts and Rs. 340 Million of investment.
Our team has deep knowledge of renewable energy infrastructure and excellent connections throughout the industry. We also work with experienced contractors.
The Energy Ministry have introduced a circular whereby, third party investors are able to fund solar PV projects on the rooftops of commercial entities and by way of a sworn affidavit, request the CEB (Ceylon Electricity Board) to supply funds directly into the designated Bank Account of the Investor.
Projects will be funded via Special Project Vehicles (SPV’s).
We have a specialized unit to support investors with financial modelling, Banking and other requirements enabling smooth project funding and returns attainment.
Furthermore, we are linked to leading Financial Consultancy firms in the country who are leaders in managing and providing support to all financial transactions with respect to forming of SPV’s, the financial management, reporting and tax clearance as well as IIA account handling for foreign investors etcetera for all projects, enabling a turnkey solution to prospective Investors, both local and international.
We already have a number of local and International Investors in the investor pool as well as a number of rooftop projects already confirmed by roof owners of over 4 MW with another 15 MW + in the pipeline. The minimum threshold for projects will be 100 kW. In order to reach this threshold, the roof area and transformer capacity must be available. We take responsibility for performing complete technical evaluations of all projects including roof structure evaluation.
